Software for optimizing the energy efficiency of vertical farming
we focus on solving the high operational costs of vertical farms arising from artificial lighting using an advanced software tool
Our goal is to optimize the environmental performance of closed greenhouse systems with artificial lighting, aiming to enhance their sustainability and profitability by reducing energy requirements. We aim to create integrated systems with renewable energy sources and energy storage stations, maximizing the yield of cultivated crops.
At VerdeCube, we are developing an algorithm that will eventually be developed into a commercial software tool used by vertical farms (VF) to help them reduce the demand for electrical energy derived from lighting expenses, which account for about 60% of the total electrical energy consumed in the VF production line. In order to make VFs more efficient, we are designing this algorithm by combining our knowledge in plant development and energy market.
