Créé en 1993, le Laboratoire Informatique, Image, Interaction (L3i) est le laboratoire de recherche du domaine des sciences du numérique de l’Université de La Rochelle. Il est Équipe d’Accueil (EA 2118) du Ministère de la Recherche depuis 1997 et dispose par ailleurs du label d’Équipe de Recherche Technologique (ERT) avec ses partenaires, label attribué par le Ministère de la Recherche.

Près de 100 membres travaillent au sein du L3i dans les domaines de l’Informatique, l’Image et l’Interaction. Le laboratoire associe les chercheurs en informatique de l’IUT et du Pôle Sciences de l’Université de La Rochelle.

Stratégie de recherche

Cette stratégie repose sur une thématique originale liée à la gestion intelligente et interactive des contenus numériques dans un contexte de contenus numériques créés par et/ou pour l’homme.

Le laboratoire se différencie au travers de :

• une vision systémique et ouverte de la recherche en informatique

• une politique de réseau consolidée et un rapprochement très important avec le monde socio-économique, en particulier avec son tissu industriel local et ses enjeux territoriaux

• une très forte culture de la relation université-entreprise avec en particulier le pilotage d’un consortium académico-industriel appelé Valconum.

LIENSs is a join research unit under the CNRS and La Rochelle University authorities, which integrates expertises in many scientific fields within environmental sciences (biology, ecology, ecophysiology, ecotoxicology, earth sciences, geophysics), humanities and social sciences (geography and history), and Engineering Sciences (chemistry and biotechnology). It takes strength through a high interdisciplinarity to address issues on the sustainable development of its main research object : the littoral zone.

En cohérence avec les axes de recherche de La Rochelle Université, l’équipe du CEREGE se structure principalement autour de deux thématiques, le  « développement durable » et le « numérique ». L’objectif est de développer une recherche d’excellence, au travers des publications académiques, la participation à des projets institutionnels et collaboratifs et plus généralement en contribuant aux différents débats dans nos champs de spécialité et au delà.

Les activités du laboratoire ont pour domaines applicatifs :

• Durabilité et protection des matériaux sous contraintes environnementales,

• Qualité des ambiances habitables,

• Eco-procédés pour la qualité des produits et la valorisation énergétique des bio-ressources.

L’unité réunit un large spectre de compétences avec des approches intégrées depuis l’échelle atomique jusqu’au matériau, au bâti et son environnement à différentes échelles de temps et d’espace. 
Elle établit un continuum du développement d’outils mathématiques aux applications et dépôts de brevets, en passant par des modèles et simulations numériques et expérimentales.

The Marine Research Institute is a subdivision of Klaipėda University, conducting fundamental and applied research on marine and coastal environment and maritime technologies. The Institute aims to facilitate science, study, and business cooperation, based on high-level scientific knowledge and the up-to-date open access research infrastructure of the Marine Valley.

The UCV Biomaterials and Bioengineering Group is led by Dr. Ángel Serrano Aroca. The team is made up of professors and researchers from the UCV who are experts in specific interdisciplinary areas of knowledge such as Biomaterials, Tissue Engineering, Nanobiotechnology, Bioreactors and Microbiology. Thus, the group's main line of research consists of making use of new technological advances such as 3D printing and materials with unique properties such as graphene and its derivatives, to develop new advanced materials with biomedical and antimicrobial applications.

The Institute of Environment and Marine Science Research (IMEDMAR ) was created in 2006 to integrate the marine research carried out in the School of “Veterinaria y Ciencias Experimentales” of the “Universidad Católica de Valencia SVM”. Its activity focuses on research in oceanography and marine resources.

The main objective of the Institute is describing the marine environment for an appropriate coastal management. We also search for new tools and proposals to monitor the marine environmental quality. Our goal is to achieve its rational and sustainable use as a place for human and environment coexistence.

The laboratory of Cell Technology is engaged in research and teaching activities and meets respective requirements in the following scientific fields: (i) In vitro cell culture and processes (ii) Cell-based biosensors (iii) Bioelectricity and electrophysiology (iv) Nanobiotechnology (v) Cell, tissue and organ engineering (vi) Cell factories. The laboratory avails over the following permanent facilities/units: (a) Animal cell culture unit (b) Plant tiisue culture & micropropagation unit (c) Electrochemical and cell-based biosensor unit.

The Laboratory covers the area of research and provision of knowledge concerning:

1. Engineering background

Technical drawing; Statics – Strength of Materials; Transport Phenomena; Agricultural buildings – building physics; Computational and applied mechanics; Soil mechanics; Surveying

2. Design, planning, operation, optimisation and environmental impact of various agricultural enterprises (poultry houses, greenhouses, aquacultural plants etc.) and generally technical projects concerning rural infrastructure

3. Development of artificial environment for plant growth and production (greenhouses, hydroponics etc.) implementing advanced technologies

4. Management and utilisation of solid and liquid animal wastes

5. Technology and control of material quality

6. Environmental control of animal facilities using appropriate technologies

Seismic Risk Assessment Research Center (CERS) is a research entity of Technical University of Civil Engineering of Bucharest (UTCB).CERS has the following research directions:

1. Seismic response and seismic fragility of buildings and structures

2. Seismic monitoring and seismic hazard assessment

3. Site specific seismic response

4. Seismic risk assessment and dissemination of knowledge and results

5. Climatic hazards and structural reliability assessments

Advanced Research Center for Ambiental Quality is an entity integrated into the Faculty of Engineering Installations of the Technical University of Construction Bucharest.

CAMBI research center brings together both the UTCB teachers and collaborators outside the University. Its members are professors, lecturers, researchers, academic assistants, PhD and graduate students with interests in Environmental Quality and Heat Transfer Phenomena in Building Physics. The research Center manages the collective work of three areas of research, each with its own multiple directions.

Currently we are 19 people of which 10 are permanent members. The Centre's activities include experimental studies, detailed energy audit analysis, acoustics studies, specialized software development and other studies related to thermal comfort, visual or indoor air quality.
